What we check

What we look at before we price.

The page stays simple because the quote does the detail work. These are the main things we look at before recommending a scope.

Inspect entire roof edge from ladder and attic
Tear off old soffit and fascia and dispose of debris
Replace any rotted rafter tails or sheathing
Install aluminum or vinyl-wrapped fascia in your color
Install solid or vented soffit panels - vented where attic airflow needs help
How it works

Three steps.

STEP 01

Free inspection

We look at every overhang - whether you need a fresh install on an addition, a full re-wrap of the house, or a single rotted section repaired.

STEP 02

Written quote

Scope, materials, color, and timeline in writing. Bundled price if you're also doing gutters, roof, or siding.

STEP 03

Install

1-3 days for most homes. We coordinate with any gutter or roofing work so we're not on the same ladder twice.

Soffit & Fascia FAQ

Common questions.

What's the difference between soffit and fascia?
Fascia is the vertical trim board running along the edge of your roof - the long board your gutters mount to. Soffit is the horizontal panel underneath the roof overhang, between the fascia and the side of your house. You see fascia from the street; soffit you only really see if you look up while standing close to the house.
Why does soffit & fascia rot first?
It's the most exposed wood on the house. Fascia takes water from any gutter leak or ice dam directly, and soffit can wick moisture upward into rafter tails when the fascia fails. Most of our soffit/fascia jobs start with a customer noticing a gutter sag - the rot is usually right behind it.
Should I do soffit & fascia before or after a new roof?
Best done together. Once the gutters are off for a roof install, we can replace any rotted fascia for a fraction of what it costs to do it as a separate trip. If you're getting a roof and we see rot, ask for it in the same quote.
Aluminum vs. wood fascia - which is better?
Aluminum (or vinyl-wrapped) for 95% of homes - it doesn't rot, doesn't need paint, and looks like wood from the ground. We only recommend wood for historic homes or specific architectural styles where building code or HOA rules require it.
What is "vented" soffit and do I need it?
Vented soffit has small slots or perforations that let air flow into your attic. If your attic gets too hot in summer (ice damming in winter is a related symptom), upgrading from solid to vented soffit is one of the cheapest ways to fix it. We inspect attic ventilation during the quote.
What causes soffit & fascia to rot in the first place?
Almost always water - failing gutters, ice dams, missing drip edge, or roof leaks dripping down behind the fascia. Replacing rotted wood without fixing the source means it'll rot again. We diagnose the cause first and include that fix in the quote.
